The former minister of Niger Delta Affairs Godsday Orubebe was said be involved in a domestic accident
 and was rushed to the hospital – The accident stalled his re-arraignment over a N2 billion fraud at a Federal Capital Territory High Court – Orubebe is alleged to have diverted funds meant for the construction of East West round alongside three others
There is a fresh charge against the former minister of Niger Delta Affairs Godsday Orubebe by the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related Offences Commission (ICPC). The ICPC in this new charge against the former minister alleged was involved in a N2 billion fraud three others. The trio including Gitto Costruzioni Generali Nigeria Limited, Oludare Alaba and Ephraim Zeri (director of contracts) were alleged to have diverted N2 billion mapped for the dualization of section IV of the East West Road. But the re-arraignment of the accused persons was stalled due to Orubebe’s ill-health. When the matter was called up before Justice Olukayode Adeniyi of a Federal Capital Territory High Court, counsel to the former minister F. Zimhuan told the court that Orubebe was rushed to the hospital following a domestic accident.
